28 Years After, FG Redeems House Pledge to Late Keshi

The late Stephen Keshi and 14 other players of the 1994 Super Eagles Team received the Certificate of Occupancy and other land paperwork on Thursday from the Federal Government.

An apartment in Delta State with three bedrooms was given to the sporting legend.

The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing’s Abuja headquarters hosted the handing-over ceremony on Thursday, according to a statement signed by Blessing Lere-Adams, Director of Press and Public Relations.

You may remember that at the beginning of the year, President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) pledged to give houses to twenty-two members of the 1994 Super Eagles Team from the housing units under the National Housing Programme in any state of their choosing.

The Federal Government of Nigeria’s Director of Public Building and Housing, Solomon Labafilo, who presented the C of O at the ceremony, promised that the remaining nine members will soon receive their homes. likewise in addition to the C of O.

He assured them that they will be welcomed in any of the National Housing Estates of their choosing around the nation, including in the states of Imo, Abia, Ondo, and Bayelsa.

The late Stephen Keshi’s family decided to have his assigned to him in Delta State, where he was also laid to rest, Labafilo continued.

Ifeanyi Mudabai, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for keeping the pledge after 28 years.

Uncle of the late Stephen Kechi, Ifeanyi praised Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing, for taking the intelligent initiative to carry out the commitment through the National Housing Programme.
