Morocco’s annual inflation rate, as reflected by the consumer price index, slowed to 0.7% in October, down from 0.8% in September, according to a report released on Friday by the country’s statistics agency.

Food prices, which remain the primary factor influencing inflation, recorded a 0.5% rise compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, non-food items experienced a 0.7% increase year-on-year.

Core inflation, which removes the impact of volatile items, showed a 0.3% rise from the previous month and a 2.4% increase compared to October 2023.

The figures highlight a slight easing in overall inflation despite persistent upward trends in food and core inflation indicators.
