FG Starts the Procedures for the Baro Port Concession

The Federal Government has stated that it has started the concessioning of Baro Port after completely concessioning Onitsha Port.

In an interview with a news agency, Dr. George Muoghalu, managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, stated that the Onitsha River Port had been effectively turned over to the concessionaires, Universal Elysium Consortium.

It should be noted that a concessioning agreement between the Federal Government and Universal Elysium Consortium was signed in June 2022 with the then-Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisoloa Saraki, and the Managing Director of NIWA, George Moghalu, present, and the document was given to the company in June 2022.
