Titanic returns to cinema for 25 years anniversary

In honor of its 25th anniversary, James Cameron’s historical-romance epic Titanic will return to theaters next month with a brand-new trailer and poster.

The film, which won a record 11 Academy Awards in 1998 and held the No. 1 box office spot for 15 straight weeks, will be screened in 3D 4K HDR with high-frame rate.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as ill-fated lovers Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater, Titanic tells the story of the doomed RMS Titanic in 1912.

The film was a massive commercial success, earning $2.2 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time until Cameron’s 2009 film Avatar.

The director recently stated that he “can’t imagine that film” without DiCaprio and Winslet, and that the casting of the two actors was a process that required some fighting for and convincing.

Titanic returns to theaters on February 10th.
