Angus Cloud, a well-known American actor, passed away on Monday from what appears to have been a heroin overdose.
At 11:30 a.m. local time, Cloud’s mother dialled 911 and reported a “possible overdose.” She also noted that Angus had no pulse. The actor was pronounced deceased at the scene following the arrival of the Oakland Police Department and Fire Department.
In a statement to TMZ, Cloud’s family said that the actor passed away in his family’s Oakland, California home after struggling with the sadness of losing his father.
Last week, Angus’ father was laid to rest in Ireland, and since then, according to people close to the family, the actor has struggled with suicide thoughts.
According to the statement, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
“Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.
“We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Cloud became quite well-known after appearing in the viral HBO series Euphoria from 2019 to 2022. He portrayed Fezco, a drug dealer and companion of Zendaya’s Rue, the main character.
