Nigerian rapper Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, widely known as Zlatan Ibile, recently opened up about a pivotal moment in his career that he attributes to the collaborative track “My Body” with Olamide in 2017.

Speaking in a candid interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Zlatan shared the backstory of how he relentlessly reached out to Olamide for a collaboration via social media direct messages. Despite initial setbacks, the collaboration eventually materialized, resulting in the creation of “My Body,” a song that played a significant role in propelling Zlatan Ibile to stardom.

Expressing gratitude, Zlatan acknowledged Olamide, the founder of the YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop) record label, stating that receiving a verse from him was a turning point in his career. The rapper recounted how he originally envisioned the collaboration to be a rap track, aligning with his primary focus on rap during that period. However, Olamide surprised him by steering towards an Afrobeats vibe, a strategic decision that turned out to be instrumental in making Zlatan Ibile an instant star.
