Popular Nigerian musician, Ebenezer Obey, recently recounted his near-death experience following prostate surgery, thanking God for his recovery. The 82-year-old legend underwent surgery at Kelina Hospital in Lagos and expressed gratitude for the prayers and support from his fans and well-wishers.
In a conversation with newsmen, Obey revealed that he had a vision from God during his recovery, telling him that his work on earth was not yet complete. He expressed determination to fulfill his responsibilities and will share his full testimony on April 3rd, his 82nd birthday.
Obey emphasized the importance of prayer and praised Nigerian medical personnel for their care, despite his initial concerns. He also disclosed plans to raise awareness about prostate enlargement, a condition common in men over 40, through a song release in the future.
The musician, known for hits like ‘Board Member’, recounted a previous leg surgery two years ago, which also had complications but ended successfully.
As part of his birthday celebrations, Obey plans to carry out philanthropic activities across nine locations, including the Pacelli School for the Blind and Lepers’ Colony in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The celebration will culminate in a thanksgiving service on April 3, 2024, at the Decross Gospel Mission in Lagos.
