The Job Creation and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Secretariat, under the Office of the Vice President, has officially appointed music icon Innocent “Tuface” Idibia as its Brand Ambassador. The landmark partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony in Abuja, attended by government representatives and stakeholders in the MSMEs sector.
The agreement was signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, on behalf of the secretariat, with Tuface signing for himself. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in aligning entertainment influence with national economic growth strategies.
Amplifying MSMEs’ Impact Through Star Power
During the signing, Mr. Adekunle-Johnson emphasized the importance of leveraging Tuface’s widespread appeal and influence to champion the MSMEs agenda. “With President Bola Tinubu’s administration focused on supporting small businesses and creating jobs, this partnership sustains the momentum around initiatives like the Expanded National MSMEs Clinics, Shared Hubs for MSMEs, and access to single-digit loans,” he stated.
The partnership aims to mobilize both public and private sector support to scale up existing programs, including the MSMEs awards and shared facility hubs, which provide critical infrastructure for small businesses to thrive. “Tuface’s voice and reach will galvanize support for these initiatives, creating a ripple effect in empowering MSMEs and job creation across the country,” Adekunle-Johnson added.
Tuface’s Vision for a Thriving MSMEs Ecosystem
In his remarks, Tuface expressed deep gratitude for the appointment and commended the government’s proactive steps toward fostering entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. “This initiative is a step in the right direction,” he said. “MSMEs are the backbone of our economy, and I am committed to using my platform to create awareness and encourage participation in these impactful programs.”
He underscored the role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, reducing unemployment, and improving community livelihoods. Tuface pledged to serve as a passionate advocate, ensuring that the MSMEs initiatives reach grassroots communities where the impact is most needed.

What This Means for Nigeria
This collaboration comes at a crucial time when Nigeria is working to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues. By prioritizing MSMEs, the government aims to tap into the vast potential of the informal sector, which constitutes a significant portion of the country’s GDP and employment base.
Experts have noted that partnerships with influential figures like Tuface can bridge the gap between policy and public engagement, ensuring that initiatives resonate with a broader audience. His involvement is expected to drive awareness, encourage participation, and ultimately foster a culture of entrepreneurship among Nigeria’s youth.
The appointment of Tuface as the MSMEs Brand Ambassador signals the administration’s commitment to innovative approaches for economic development. It also highlights the increasing recognition of creative industries as vital partners in shaping a sustainable economic future.
