Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 on Sunday to win the Spanish Women’s Super Cup, and Super Falcons standout Oshoala was listed among the goal scorers.
Aitana Bonmati scored the game’s first goal in the 13th minute, followed by two more goals in the 47th and 96th minutes, respectively, before Oshoala scored the game’s last goal to make it three goals and secure the victory.
Following the triumph of the men’s squad in the same competition last weekend, the victory at the Estadio Romano in Merida gave the team its first championship of the year.
Since the Super Cup’s creation in 2020, Barcelona has won three of them in a span of four years. Atletico Madrid was the only side to defeat them, doing so in the semifinals of the following year on penalties.
That was the final domestic trophy Barca was unsuccessful in capturing. In addition to the Champions League and all three Spanish competitions from the previous season—Liga F, Copa de la Reina, and Super Cup—they went on to win a league and cup double in 2020–21.
