A vast list of well-known figures, including the President and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, praised the First Bank UK branch at a celebration for the bank’s 40th anniversary.

According to a statement from the bank, its 40th anniversary was celebrated in London, UK, with the subject “Partnership beyond borders.”

In his message of goodwill, President Buhari claimed that FirstBank had eloquently shown a high degree of nationalism by keeping the Nigerian dream at the core of its operations and evolving constantly to create agile financial services solutions to meet the demands of its clients both domestically and internationally.

“Also, perhaps more than any other institution in its class, FirstBank has supported the government by providing human resources at various times to boost much required professional expertise in various sectors of our economy,” he said.

Emefiele added that FirstBank Group was well-positioned to play a proactive role in the promotion of Africa as an investment destination, draw desperately needed capital to the continent, and ease trade with other parts of the world thanks to FBNBank UK’s established presence in a major international financial center like London.
