In order to foster an atmosphere that would enable communities to thrive together and maintain lasting peace, Dangote Cement Plc has pledged to continue its engagement with the host communities and other pertinent stakeholders.
Mr. Hazard Nawabuddin, Plant Director of the Dangote Cement Ibese Plant, promised that the company would continue to deepen its ties with the locals by making deliberate social investments that would support socioeconomic growth, job creation, job training, education, health, and other areas of community development.
In the opening remarks of a workshop on “Effective community and corporate relationship management skills,” organized by Ibese Plant for representatives and stakeholders from the host communities in the Yewa North and Ewekoro Local Government Areas of Ogun State, he made the statement through the Plant’s Head of Administration and Human Asset Development, Mr. Abu Sufyan.
He said, “The skills that will be imparted at the workshop will be helpful not only in the discharge of duties as community representatives, but also in the personal and business lives of the participants.
“Hence, I implore you all to see this as an opportunity for self-development and a deliberate investment in your growth and well-being by the Company.”
Nawabuddin also added, “Ultimately, there should be reduced grievances, and elimination of social incidences, protests/crisis, which will create an enabling environment for sustainable peace and mutual growth.”
