Aliko Dangote, the largest businessman in Africa, intends to invest multiple billions of naira in the sugar subsector, which will result in the creation of 300,000 new employment.
Aliko Dangote, President of the Group, was reported in a statement from the business’s corporate communication department as saying that the company was extending its operations in the sugar subsector and giving new funding.
Dangote stated that both direct and indirect employment opportunities would be available during his speech at the flag-off ceremony for the 2022–2023 Crushing Season and Outgrower Scheme Awards in Numan, Adamawa State.
Dangote said, “We are making massive investment in Adamawa State through expansion of DSR Numan’s sugar refining capacity from 3000tcd to 6000tcd, 9800tcd, and to 15,000tcd. DSR will be able to create about 300,000 jobs, direct and indirect, with positive multiplier effects on the economy nationwide.”
In an effort to aid the Federal Government in giving Nigerians additional employment possibilities, Dangote was named head of the National Job Creation Committee in 2010.
Additionally, the president of Dangote revealed that his organization would double the amount it spends on CSR initiatives in Adamawa State, where its 32,000 hectare integrated sugar complex is located, in host communities.
The Dangote Sugar Refinery was cited by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, as the major supporter of the federal government’s efforts to expand the sugar industry in Numan.
Dangote’s CSR program received enormous support, which the minister also praised. When finished early next year, the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals is predicted to generate over 250,000 job possibilities.
Already one of Africa’s largest employers in the manufacturing sector is Dangote Cement Plc.
