DEPOWA Provide Millions for Cancer Support

In a move to combat the scourge of cancer, the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) has announced substantial financial support aimed at aiding cancer patients across Nigeria. Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, President of DEPOWA, emphasized the organization’s dedication to not just raising awareness but also to actively improving outcomes for those affected by cancer.

Cancer, described by DEPOWA as one of the most pressing health challenges globally, affects millions, disrupting lives and families. Mrs. Musa highlighted the importance of proactive measures such as regular screenings, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and ensuring timely medical interventions. “Knowledge is power,” she stated, underscoring that these steps can significantly mitigate cancer risks and enhance survival rates.

DEPOWA has demonstrated its commitment through concrete actions, providing financial assistance. Specifically, the association has allocated N500,000 each to 52 cancer patients, helping them manage treatment costs, and a further N3 million distributed among three patients, ensuring they receive critical care and support.

The initiative by DEPOWA calls on the broader community to participate in the battle against cancer. Mrs. Musa urged everyone to educate themselves about the disease, support affected individuals, and advocate for better healthcare access.
