A Memorandum of Agreement on hospitality services was signed on Monday by Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.
The airline revealed in a statement that the MoU was signed to create a framework for the delivery of Ethiopian Airlines goods and services to IGAD.
By signing the MoU, Ethiopian Airlines would be allowed to offer IGAD hospitality services at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel and designate a specific team to take care of IGAD’s travel and hospitality requirements.
According to Mr. Lemma Yadecha, the Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopian Airlines Group, “We are pleased to have signed this agreement with IGAD and play our part in the region’s socio-economic development.
More than 20 flights per day are operated by Ethiopian Airlines to IGAD member states, contributing significantly to the socioeconomic linkages in the area and aiding the regional integration and economic cooperation that IGAD seeks to achieve.
