The Nigeria Football Federation has made the schedules available for the 2019 Federation Cup competition, which will get underway on February 18.
The preliminary and final of the state-level competition will begin on February 18 and end on March 19, according to a statement sent by the NFF to all state football associations on January 9 and dated.
Club registration at the state level begins January 16, and player applications for the production of licenses must be submitted between January 31 and February 6.
The NFF will choose the dates for the competition’s various phases, including the national draws and play-off games.
The announcement also specified that the state FA must receive applications for the two teams by no later than March 20 in order for them to compete at the national level for their respective states.
Further to that, the NFF reduced the registration costs clubs would have to pay to compete in the Federation Cup in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The female clubs will pay N50,000 as opposed to the initial N120,000 (men) and N100,000 (women) for participation in the competition, while the male clubs will pay N70,000 (women).
In order to encourage more clubs to take part in the tournament this year in both the men’s and women’s divisions, the NFF board decided to evaluate the prices downwards, according to NFF’s acting director of competitions, Ruth David.
