With the implementation of a new visa policy, Nigerians living abroad will now be able to return home using their foreign passports.
Eng. Rauf Aregbesola, the Interior Minister, said that the New Visa Policy (NVP) has been put into effect.
On Friday, November 11, 2022, Aregbesola tweeted that under the new regulation, Nigerians having dual citizenship would no longer need visas to enter Nigeria if they choose to return home using their foreign passports.
As he announced his ministry’s twelve most recent accomplishments, he made the statement: ” The NVP 2020 is special visas for Nigerians in Diaspora who either by birth or marriage have assumed dual citizenship. Such people will now be able to make use of the passports of their adopted countries to visit Nigeria without the need for short stay visa.”
He also revealed that Nigeria has started its own visa-on-arrival program for people with passports from other African nations.
