France outclass Morocco to end Africa’s dream of making historical World Cup final

The only African team still in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar will now have to fight for the third-place position after they were outclassed by the defending champions, France 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Hernandez opened the scoring in the first five minutes of the game with an acrobatic effort that beat the Moroccan goalkeeper, Bounou who had only conceded just a goal – an own goal, before the semi-final game against the French team.

Morocco fought hard to come back into the game right in the second stanza of the game but their closest attempt hit the bar.

France’s substitute Muani needed just a few seconds on the pitch to register his name on his country’s World Cup record as he tapped in the ball after a brilliant run from magnificent Mbappe, to break the Moroccan’s back and end the game 2-0.

Morocco will now face Croatia in a bid to win the first African World Cup bronze. While France will battle Messi’s Argentina for a chance to retain the prestigious trophy for another four years.
