Fuel Shortages are Inevitable in North as IPMAN goes on Strike

Yahaya Alhassan, Chairman of the IPMAN Suleja Depot Branch, claimed that because the union had halted trucks from transporting PMS to the northern states, marketers had ceased supplying goods from the depot.

Following the start of a three-day warning strike by the Suleja Depot Branch of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abuja, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger, and neighboring states may see another round of petrol shortages.

The union’s members went on strike on Monday in opposition to the Federal Government’s ongoing bridging claim debt to oil marketers for the payment of fuel transportation charges.

He claimed that marketers were discontinuing their services unless the Federal Government paid the N50.5 billion in unpaid bridging claims.

If the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority doesn’t send the money, he claimed, the three-day warning strike will continue.
