Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a candidate for president on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and a former governor of Lagos State, said on Tuesday that he would not leave politics until he became President of the country, even though he is old.
Tinubu told party members and delegates in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, “We are old enough to retire soon, but I’m not going to retire until I’m President.”
He said that if given the chance, he would change the country’s luck, fight corruption on all fronts, and make sure that Nigerians could live together in peace.
“I will rule with all my strength, and we will work with you to stop the trend of corruption. Some things are causing division, but our promise to Nigeria is that we will live together in peace and harmony and build unity,” he said.
Also, on Tuesday, Tinubu told APC delegates at the Banquet Hall across from the Kwara State Government House in Ilorin that he knows how to solve the many problems the country is facing.
He said he has what it takes to make Nigeria great again and bring prosperity to everyone. He also said, “I can navigate the road to prosperity, I know the road to education because I believe in it, and I know how to solve the country’s problem of insecurity.”
He did, however, ask Nigerians to vote for him so that he could be president.
