Nigerian Forward Victor Osimhen: On the Path to Premier League Glory
Nigerian international and Napoli goal-poacher, Victor Osimhen has his sights set on playing in the English Premier League (EPL). In a recent interview, Osimhen expressed his desire to make his dreams of playing in the EPL a reality.
“It’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum,” he said.
“Serie A is in one of the top five leagues in the world, and it’s an amazing feeling for me.”
“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League one day”
“It’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum, Serie A is in one of top five leagues in the world and it’s an amazing feeling for me,” he further revealed.
According to reports making rounds in Italy, Osimhen’s outstanding performances in Serie A have caught the attention of top EPL clubs. Arsenal is reportedly the favorite to sign the 24-year-old, with Manchester United and Chelsea also showing interest.
However, any club that wishes to sign Osimhen would have to pay a record-breaking sum of money to prize him away from Napoli. Rai claims that the Italian club values Osimhen at least £133 million, which would make him the most expensive transfer in British history, surpassing Chelsea’s £106 million move for Enzo Fernandez in January.
Despite the high price tag, Osimhen has proved to be worth every penny. This season, he has scored 19 goals and provided four assists in 21 domestic league outings for Napoli, topping the top scorers’ table.
Osimhen’s incredible form has also earned him multiple awards. He was named the Serie A player of the month for January and recently received the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year Global Soccer Award. The Nigerian was also awarded the best foreign athlete in Italy for Stampa Estera.
It’s no surprise that Osimhen has caught the attention of EPL clubs, and he seems to be well on his way to achieving his dream. With his impressive record and determination, he’s sure to make a huge impact in the Premier League if given the chance.
