Ivorian Haller nets 10-minute hat trick for Dortmund months after undergoing treatment for cancer

Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller has returned with a bang – a 10-minute hat trick in Borrusia Dortmund’s 6-0 thumping of Basel in a mid-season friendly, after missing the first half of the season due to testicular cancer diagnosis.

The Ivorian striker came off the bench in the 61st minute and scored three quick-fire goals in the space to secure the win for his team.

The performance will no doubt boost Haller’s confidence as he prepares for his first competitive appearance of the season. Marco Reus, Donyell Malen and Jude Bellingham also contributed to the victory with first-half goals.

Haller’s return to training earlier this month marked a significant milestone in his recovery and his impressive performance on Friday will likely see him included in the starting lineup for Borussia Dortmund’s next Bundesliga match against FC Augsburg next weekend.
