Kano Police Chief Lauds Residents for Peaceful Conduct

The Kano State Police Command has conveyed contentment with the tranquil demeanor exhibited by residents during the ongoing re-run elections in the affected areas of the state. The Commissioner of Police for the state, Usaini Gumel, conveyed to reporters on Saturday that the electoral process is presently unfolding in a peaceful manner.

Gumel affirmed that both the police and other collaborating security agencies in the state are diligently working to ensure an election devoid of crises. The head of the police force stated, “We have mobilised sufficient armed personnel to provide security before, during, and after the election exercise.”

Gumel emphasised that a substantial number of security personnel are actively present to guarantee the peaceful execution of the re-run elections, spanning 60 polling units across the three constituencies within the six local government areas.

He highlighted that the command is committed to deploying supplementary security personnel specifically to the Kunchi/Tsanyawa constituency, with the aim of ensuring a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
