The new Super Eagles jersey, which Nike unveiled on Thursday, has received mixed reviews.
The new clothing created by the American manufacturer was shared by The Eagles via their Twitter account.
The away uniform consists of a white shirt with a green neckband and green shorts, whereas the home uniform is entirely green with eagle graphics on it.
Twitter was used by supporters of the three-time African champions to voice their anger and frustration with the Nike design.
Ghana’s national team football fan page reacting to the new design wrote beneath the pictures, “Is this punishment for not qualifying for the world cup… Very ugly kits.”
Onuoha Udochukwu also added, “If the plan is to irritate opponents so that they don’t mark our players, I think this is the perfect jersey for the job. As we did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, now we have a talking point.”
However, it is anticipated that the Super Eagles will don the new uniforms against the Algerian Desert Foxes in a friendly on September 27.
