The Deeper Christian Life Ministry on Saturday, June 25, 2022 launched an empowerment programme named Young Eagles Soaring, to equip the youths in the country with some professional skills.
The Programme which was attended by thousands of youths from diverse religious lines was hosted by, the founder of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi, at the Deeper Life Camp ground, Eyenkorin in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The church recorded that the programme involved teenagers, students, Corps members and young adults.
Kumuyi had been in Kwara for a 7-day crusade said his mission is to engage the youths regardless of their religion. According to him, “My mission is to engage the youth, not just the Christian youths or Muslim youths. I want to open the eyes of the young people and show them who they can be and what they can be, and refocus them.
He further mentioned that the programme had been inspired by some of his recent dealings with young people out of Nigeria.
“I charge you to be like an Eagle that flies and soars in the sky with determination. You have the grace to be an achiever, be a goal getter, look at models and exhibit endurance,” He furthered.
In an interview, the Programme Head, Campus Coordinator, Prof. Olurotimi Fayeye, mentioned that the programme was important because of the limitations people are facing.
Fayeye, a professor of Animal Science at the University of Ilorin, also chipped in that Kumuyi enlightens the youth by opening their eyes to what they can do and how to achieve it.
“Pastor Kumuyi gave them information which is the first level of how to achieve their goals in life. That is how the programme is viewed, it is an eye-opener for the youth and the pastor has told them to be determined and soar like an Eagle.” He said.
He also added that the programme was sustainable and that youths are expected it monthly through the Impact Academy.
The State Coordinator, Deeper Life School Outreach, Dr Sunday Adewara, also buttressed on what others have said by adding that the youth would be taught practical solutions to empower them for their careers.
