On their website, Slovan Liberec, a three-time champion in the Czech Republic, announced that Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji has signed a permanent contract.
The player, who had been on loan from Larnaca of Cyprus since January, was acquired by Liberec following the due process.
In his 18 league games while wearing a Liberec jersey, the 23-year-old played a total of 1,253 minutes and registered eight goals and one assist.
He also shown his versatility and composure on the pitch, receiving just one caution while maintaining a solid dribbling success rate of 56.9% and a shooting success rate of almost 20%.
His outstanding performance during his loan period persuaded the team to use their option to sign him on a permanent basis.
According to a statement by the club, “The wish of many fans is becoming a reality. Slovan exercised the option on Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji, who has been on loan under Ještěd from Larnaca in Cyprus since January.”
“The native of Sokoto, Nigeria, played for Slovak Inter Bratislava and Podbrezová in the past, he also played for Austrian SV Mattersburg and, in addition to Larnaca, he also wore the jersey of Cypriot Alki Oroklini.
“Now he is becoming a regular player for Slovan Liberec. And after exercising the option on Ľubomír Tupta, it is a further strengthening of our offensive for next season.”
