After being sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a fractured metatarsal bone, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez announced that he had successfully undergone surgery.
Martinez was helped off the field after United’s 2-2 Europa League draw with Sevilla. The team was aiming to clinch third place in the Premier League and win the FA Cup and Europa League.
Martinez played 45 times for United this season across all competitions.
The 25-year-old claimed the procedure “went really well” in a post on Instagram and that he was now concentrating on his rehabilitation.
