The FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United will take place this Saturday, but Anthony Martial won’t be playing.
This follows the announcement by his club that he has a hamstring injury and will not play.
Recently, Martial had been in good form, scoring twice in his last four games to help his team defeat Wolves and Chelsea in the Premier League.
In the FA Cup semifinal victory over Brighton, he also participated for 85 minutes.
Though his season is essentially done, he won’t play against City at Wembley.
According to a club statement: “The France international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford.
“Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.”
