Mbappe fails to extend PSG contract after Messi’s exit

Following Lionel Messi out of the club last summer, Kylian Mbappe informed Paris Saint-Germain on Monday that he will not be exercising an option to extend his contract until 2025.
The present contract of the France striker, 24, with the option of an additional year, expires at the conclusion of the upcoming season.

The French champions could potentially sell him this summer rather than pass on a windfall for one of the finest players in the world because if he does not sign, they run the chance of losing him for nothing in a year.

Following the loss of Messi to Inter Miami, Mbappe’s decision to not renew his contract was revealed in a letter to the club and reported by the French sports daily L’Equipe.

The choice of Mbappe had to be made by July 31, 2023.

Mbappe made his transfer a little over a year after defying Real Madrid by signing a surprise contract extension to stay at the Parc des Princes.
