Victor Osimhen is expected to receive a new deal from Napoli as they attempt to hold onto the striker amid intense interest from other teams.
Osimhen, who leads Serie A in goals scored this season with 25, is being monitored by a number of teams, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
Calciomercato claims that Osimhen’s employer, Napoli, is anxious to retain him on staff and is making every effort to persuade him to do so.
The talented 24-year-old has also drawn interest from Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
Osimhen, who presently earns £3.9 million annually, is about to receive a handsome new contract from Napoli. The agreement would also have a £138 million release clause.
Napoli’s victory in the Serie A championship this season—the team’s first since the 1989–90 campaign—has been significantly attributed to Osimhen.
Osimhen has 100 games and 58 goals for Napoli since signing from Lille in 2020.
Osimhen resisted answering questions about his future after winning Serie A with Luciano Spalletti’s team.
As he stated on Sky Sport Italia: ‘I feel like a leader and I never give up. Future? Now I want to enjoy this historic moment, this is not the time to think about my future.’
In order to improve his team’s offensive options this summer, United manager Erik ten Hag is interested in signing Osimhen.
Also being considered is Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
