Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker for Napoli, continues to be a highly sought-after player in the world of football. With 11 goals in 16 games for the Serie A leaders, and currently the top scorer in the Italian league, several top European clubs have been alerted to his talents and according to Il Mattino, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis now values Osimhen at €140m.
This is the second time that Napoli has increased Osimhen’s valuation, after previously setting an asking price of €100m during the summer window, which was later increased to €120m with the club stating they would not consider any offers below that amount.
Il Mattino also reports that Manchester United and Bayern Munich are still interested in signing the young Nigerian.
United are said to be searching for a replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo, while Osimhen has two years left on his Napoli contract, with talks of an improved deal reportedly in the works.
Despite the interest from other clubs, Osimhen remains an integral part of Napoli’s early season run which has placed them at the top of the Serie A table with only one domestic loss in the campaign.
Osimhen’s performances have been highly praised by fans and experts alike, earning 10 goals and two assists from his 13 league appearances so far this season. He has become the “new ruler of Naples” and is deemed as “Irreplaceable”
It’s worth noting that, Manchester United is keen to strengthen their team for the coming season, and for them, Victor Osimhen remains one of the top priority targets for the summer. They have been looking for a center-forward for the last six years.
