Nigeria Police Arrest 130 Cybercrime Suspects in Coordinated Raid

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 130 individuals, including 113 foreign nationals, for alleged involvement in high-level cybercrimes and hacking. The suspects, primarily of Chinese and Malaysian origin, along with 17 Nigerian collaborators, were apprehended during a raid on a building in the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi, Abuja.

Force Public Relations Officer ACP Muyiwa Adejobi revealed in a press statement that the operation, led by AIG Benneth Igweh, was carried out on November 3, 2024. The Inspector General of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the security threats posed by the suspects.

“This strategic operation was conducted through a coordinated raid on a building at the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi, Abuja, where the suspects were reportedly using computers and other sophisticated devices to facilitate criminal activities. We are investigating the matter and scientifically analysing the exhibits recovered from them”. ACP Adejobi said.
