Nigeria’s Bilateral Cooperation with Us Is Evolving – French Consul General

The Consul General of France in Lagos, Laurent Favier, has highlighted the evolving and balanced cooperation between Nigeria and France. Speaking at the French Week 2024 Business Forum organized by the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Favier said, “Our bilateral cooperation is evolving toward a more balanced relationship.”

He pointed to Nigerian financial institutions expanding into France, calling it a “dynamic era for mutual economic growth.” French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, echoed Favier’s outlook, calling Nigeria’s recent economic reforms “a gateway to sustainable investment” and describing France as a “gateway for Nigerian businesses into Europe.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Commissioner Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, underscored Lagos’ role as an investment hub, while Technical Adviser Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, representing Vice President Kashim Shettima, encouraged investors to explore opportunities beyond Lagos, saying, “Nigeria is 36 states plus the FCT.”
