British sports analytics company Opta has ranked Super Eagles forward Moses Simon as the fourth best dribbler in Europe’s top five divisions. According to a recent Ligue 1 X Twitter post citing OptaJose, Simon is only outperformed by Barcelona wonderkid Yamine Lamal, Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, and Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane.
Simon, who is currently in his fourth season with Nantes, has been one of the club’s most significant players. He played a key role in leading Nantes to the Coupe de France title in 2022, helping the French club win their first trophy.
Known for his physicality and one-on-one skill, the 28-year-old has been the club’s primary outlet in the final third. Opta’s recent statistic ranks Simon as the fourth-best dribbler in Europe’s top five leagues, with a dribble completion rate of 55.1 percent. He trails only Lamal (59.7 percent), Doku (58.6 percent), and Sane (55.5 percent).
Simon’s impressive performance makes him the top dribbler in the French League, ahead of notable players like Kylian Mbappe, Jonathan David, Takumi Minamino, and his teammates Terem Moffi and Akor Adams.
In the current season, Simon has contributed three goals and five assists in 18 Ligue 1 games for Nantes. The team currently sits 14th in the French top flight, three points above the relegation spot.
