President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reiterated his administration’s firm commitment to eliminating the remnants of terrorist organizations threatening Nigeria’s peace and security. Speaking during the public presentation of books on the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, President Tinubu underscored that extremist groups such as Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping gangs would face zero tolerance.
“I must say the job of securing every inch of our country is yet to be finished. My government will stamp out the remaining vestiges of Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping gangs. We won’t rest until every agent of darkness is completely rooted out,” President Tinubu declared.
Highlighting the commitment to address unresolved challenges, including economic and infrastructural issues inherited from the previous administration, President Tinubu pledged to continue the work initiated by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The president acknowledged the challenging circumstances under which Buhari assumed office, facing economic recession and insurgency threats in Northeast Nigeria. Praising Buhari’s dedication, Tinubu noted the former leader’s service to the nation both as a military head of state in 1984 and as the elected president in 2015.
Commenting on the book “Working With Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity,” authored by Femi Adesina, President Tinubu commended the authors for providing insights into Buhari’s tenure and legacy. He highlighted Buhari’s achievements, including infrastructure projects like the second Niger Bridge and the revamping of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
President Tinubu pledged to build on Buhari’s achievements, promising to complete ongoing projects and advance Nigeria’s prosperity. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media & Publicity to President Buhari, authored one of the presented books, while the second book, “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy (2015-2023),” offers an authoritative account of President Buhari’s stewardship.
