Nigeria’s Refineries Lose 218 Employees, N69 Billion

According to information from the facilities’ financial statements, which were just made public by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, the number of employees at Nigeria’s refineries decreased by 218 within a year while the facilities reported a cumulative comprehensive loss of N69.03 billion during the review period.

The Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, and the Port Harcourt Refining Company are the three refineries in Nigeria that are managed by NNPC.

According to a review of the three refineries’ separate financial records, WRPC and KRPC both reduced their employment by 113 employees and 105 employees, respectively, however there was no mention of any staff reductions at PHRC.

KRPC reported a comprehensive loss of N22.89 billion during the time under review, WRPC lost N19.63 billion, and PHRC lost N26.51billion.
