Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho, two members of the Super Eagles, will not play against Mozambique in a friendly.
A Sunday update on the team’s X account stated as much.
The 2-2 tie with the Saudi Arabian Green Falcons on Friday saw Osimhen replaced. The Napoli attacker, though, won’t play against Mozambique on Monday as a “precautionary measure on advice of the medical team,” according to the club’s management, who made the announcement days after the match.
Iheanacho was given a leave of absence so that he could take care of “pressing personal issues.”
Iheanacho and Osimhen participated in the match against Saudi Arabia, with the former scoring the game’s only goal.
The Estadio Municipal de Albufeira, Portugal, will host the match between Nigeria and Mozambique on Monday.
The game is scheduled to start by 4pm (WAT).
