Victor Osimhen is in incredible goal-scoring form right now, according to former Chelsea women’s striker Eniola Aluko.
Prior to Napoli’s Tuesday trip to Germany for their Champions League match against Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt, the Nigerian international had scored in five straight matches in the Italian top division. The Napoli No. 9 maintained his strong run of form by opening the scoring against the German Bundesliga team.
Osimhen scored the game’s first goal five minutes from the conclusion of the first half by converting a beautiful feed from Hirving Lozano, bringing his season total of goals scored to 20 in 24 games played in all competitions.
After being fouled inside the box by Aurelio Buta in the 34th minute, the 24-year-old was awarded a penalty, but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was unable to score.
Aluko commented on Napoli’s first-half performance on BT Sport, “You see straightaway as soon as they win the ball back, they are direct. You see Osimhen really attacks the box, gets into the box ahead of the defenders.
“Hirving Lozano great ball, inch perfect ball and a good striker’s finish. Osimhen is on fire.
“Everything he touches is going in, 20th goal of the season. Brilliant goalscoring record so far this season.”
