Following his fantastic performances for Napoli thus far this season, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been regarded as Nigeria’s most valuable player in Europe.

According to Transfermarkt, the 23-year-old forward’s value has increased to €65 million. He is currently the top scorer in Serie A this season with eight goals from nine games despite missing five weeks due to injury.

The Nigerian displayed his value in Napoli’s 2-1 comeback victory against Atalanta on Saturday, giving Luciano Spalletti’s team their ninth straight Serie A victory.

All three of the goals were contributed to by the Super Eagle that day. After being called for a handball in the penalty area, his countryman Ademola Lookman converted the ensuing penalty in the 19th minute before the Super Eagle scored the equalizer four minutes later. Ten minutes before halftime, he then helped Eljif Elmas score the winning goal.

He achieved the accomplishment that made him the all-time leading scorer for Nigeria in the Italian top league. With a goal every 91 minutes in the Serie A, he is now the fourth most productive striker in the top five leagues in Europe.

Osimhen has already scored 10 goals for the Partenopei, who are leading Serie A by six points (nine goals, two assists).

Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City is ranked second and is valued at €45 million, while Alex Iwobi of Everton is third and is valued at €25 million.

Samuel Chukwueze and Taiwo Awoniyi, a duo valued at €20 million each, round out the top five.

The sixth most expensive position is held by Sadiq Umar, who is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He will set up prospective buyers back €18 million, just like Ajax defender Calvin Bassey.

Eighth-placed Kelechi Iheanacho is valued at €17 million, and Terem Moffi and Joe Aribo, who are also priced at €15 million each, round out the top three.
