Oliver Kahn, the CEO of Bayern Munich, asserts that the Bavarians’ decision to pay €150 million to recruit Nigerian international Victor Osimhen will constitute a dangerous move despite Osimhen’s good performance in Serie A.
The Nigerian striker led Partenopei to their first historic Scudetto in 33 years, having his best season of his career. He is the first Nigerian player to win the Serie A championship.
Napoli overcame a deficit to upset Udinese 2-1 thanks to the striker from Nigeria’s game-winning goal in the second half.
In an effort to recruit the prolific goal scorer from Napoli in the summer, the German champions have been keeping an eye on him. However, the Bayern Munich star feels that Osimhen’s price tag is excessive and that the player is not worth the enormous cost.
“When it’s about such a fee, we have to ask the question, does the player give you a guarantee for this money?” Kahn told SportBild.
“That would definitely be a big risk.”
Owner of Napoli Aurelio de Laurentiis has told supporters of the Gli Azzurri that he has no plans to sell Osimhen this summer and has begun contract negotiations with Osimhen’s representatives.
