Senator Kola Balogun, representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the Senate has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Balogun, who was the only senator elected to the Upper Legislative on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State in 2019, resigned from the PDP after Governor Seyi Makinde handed over the PDP ticket for Oyo South Senatorial District to Joseph Tegbe, who defected to the PDP from the APC.
In his letter of resignation, he thanked the party for giving him the opportunity in the ninth Senate, saying his resignation took effect from April 28.
Senator Balogun wished the party best of luck.
Balogun is the younger brother of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun.
