On Thursday, protesting members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria threatened to halt oil production in Nigeria for 30 days if the Federal Government didn’t do anything to stop the ongoing enormous oil theft in the Niger Delta.

In different cities throughout Nigeria, including Abuja, Kaduna, and Port Harcourt in Rivers State, union members protested. Warri is in Delta State.

According to research by our correspondent, should the employees follow through on their threat, Nigeria might lose roughly N1.37 trillion from the non-production and sale of crude oil, a significant source of foreign exchange income for the nation.

Prince Audu Osihiokhamele, the PENGASSAN Zonal Chairman, expressed worry that the big men doing the business of stealing crude oil are in government while speaking at the sensitization rally that was held at the Delta State Governor’s Office Annexe in Warri.

He continued by saying that if the government was unable to address the threat permanently, PENGASSAN would be forced to take more extreme measures.
