Presidential frontrunner, Mr Peter Obi, Wednesday resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter to the National Party Chairman, Peter Obi also abandoned his quest to run on the platform of the PDP.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State stated that it “has been a great honour to contribute to nation-building efforts through our party. Unfortunately, recent developments within our party make it practically impossible to continue participating and making such constructive contributions.”
Obi thanked the National Chairman of the party for his leadership and wished him well in the service of the country.
The Director General of the Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe submitted the letter to the National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
