Chelsea football player, Petr Cech has left the club while Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s takeover.
The former goalkeeper of the club has been the team’s technical and performance advisor since 2019.
According to Cech, “It has been a huge privilege to perform this role at Chelsea for the past three years. With the club under new ownership, I feel now is the right time for me to step aside.
I am pleased that the club is now in an excellent position with the new owners, and I am confident of its future success both on and off the pitch. ”
Cech who joined Arsenal in 2015 having spent 11 years with Chelsea, returned in 2019 for a technical role.
There’s no disputing the fact that Cech and Granovskaia’s departure will affect Boehly who has already appointed himself acting sporting director to make deals run smoothly this summer. But there is a major concern as to whether or not Boehly has the required expertise to lead Chelsea especially as Thomas Tuchel, the head coach moves to fill in on Manchester City and Liverpool.
Report also has it that Cech met with some influential agents in European football in recently.
Although, Chelsea has been linked with Raheem Sterling of Manchester City, Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde to mention a few, none of them has been signed.
