The first African Football League (AFL) season began on Friday with a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg of the quarterfinal between Tanzania’s Simba and Egypt’s Al Ahly in Dar es Salaam.
The teams will square off once more in Cairo on Tuesday, with Ahly, the record 11-time African champions, much expected to win and go to the semifinals against either Petro Luanda of Angola or Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
