The legendary 100-meter hurdles African, Commonwealth, and World Champion, Tobi Amusan has signed a management contract with Plug Sports, a top Nigerian sports management organization owned by The Plug. The management of The Plug informed journalists of this yesterday at a briefing session held at their office in Lagos.
It was a dream come true, and The Plug is overjoyed to have Ms. Amusan on board, said Lanre Vigo, Head of Sports at The Plug, in revealing his enthusiasm at the signing of the sports star. “I’m delighted to report that world record holder Tobi Amusan has joined Plug Sports”. In Africa, Tobi Amusan’s off-field interests will be handled by Plug Sports.
Tobi Amusan is a track and field athlete who competes as a sprinter and specializes in the 100-meter hurdles. He recently broke several world records. Amusan’s 12.06 seconds mark, was the first in 36 years in addition to becoming the first gold medalist ever for Nigeria in the competition.
At the age of 15, she competed in and won a 100-meter sprint inter-house competition. This was the start of her career. After defeating a runner who was doing some exercise at the nearby athletics stadium that day, Amusan was motivated to take up the sport. Tobi Amusan is coached by Lacena Golding-Clarke.
