Assuaging concerns about her health after missing the opening of the UK parliament earlier this week for the first time in nearly 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II was pictured on Friday smiling as she watched the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
A white blouse, blue cardigan, and tinted glasses were seen on the 96-year-old monarch as she arrived in a Range Rover to the event, one of the highlights of her year.
A group of people was able to hear her through the open window of her car.
She had “episodic mobility issues” when she pulled out of the state opening of parliament on Tuesday, according to Buckingham Palace.
Since an unscheduled hospital stay in October, the queen has been seen only rarely and has complained of difficulties standing and walking. In February, she became ill with Covid-19 as well.
A memorial service for her late husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was the last time she was seen in the public eye.
For her Platinum Jubilee, which marks a record-breaking 70 years as king, her health issues may prevent her from participating in the festivities.
