Salima Bah is one of Sierra Leone’s finest thinkers. She graduated from Holborn College at The University of Wales with an LLB (Hons) and the Columbia Law School with an LLM. She is a Sierra Leonean High Court Barrister and Solicitor. In addition, she is a Burton Memorial Fellow.
She also participates actively in the Sierra Leone Bar Association and is a member of the executive board of LAWYERS, a group of nonprofit female lawyers dedicated to defending the rights of women and children.
Salima previously served as a State Counsel assigned to Sierra Leone’s first-ever Directorate of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI) as a member of the DSTI Policy Team, which is charged with providing legal advice and opinions. Salima held this position during her time at the Ministry of Justice.
She also worked for the Ministry of Justice’s Law Officers Department’s Prosecution Division. She has a lot of expertise prosecuting criminal cases and providing legal opinions on police cases and inquiry files that have been submitted for review.
Salima Mormorna Bah, 32, has just been selected as the next minister of communication, technology, and innovation by Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio.
Salima will now take the helm in developing programmes that encourage the use of technology to advance national development in Sierra Leone.
