Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was greeted with enthusiasm upon her arrival in Kano to attend the inauguration of the Faculty of Law Building named in her honor at Maryam Abacha University.
The First Lady’s visit to the ancient city of Kano was marked by a reception at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, where she was warmly welcomed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, government officials, and thousands of supporters from the NNPP.
Scheduled for a one-day visit, Senator Tinubu’s primary agenda was to officiate the inauguration ceremony at Maryam Abacha University.

Speaking to reporters in Kano, Sanusi Bature, the Director General of Media and Publicity to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all participants during the event.
He highlighted the comprehensive security measures put in place by the state government, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, to guarantee a smooth and peaceful visit.
Bature urged residents to maintain decorum and extend a warm reception to the first lady, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful atmosphere for the success of the occasion.
Additionally, Police Commissioner Hussaini Gumel affirmed the readiness of law enforcement to provide adequate security coverage for Senator Tinubu throughout her visit, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards any disruptions or security breaches.
