On a mission to find talented players for the national team, the coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, had traveled to South Africa to watch the relatively unknown Chippa United‘s game. Little did he know that he would stumble upon a true gem – Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Chippa United.

Following his impressive performance, Nwabali received his first-ever national team invite, marking a pivotal moment in his career. Selected for the AFCON2023 squad, Nwabali’s inclusion was met with skepticism by some, but he quickly silenced his doubters with his outstanding performances on the field.
