Tinubu Celebrates High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Winifred Awosika at 85

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his warmest congratulations to High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Winifred Awosika, the pioneering educationist and entrepreneur, on the occasion of her 85th birthday. The celebration was marked with high praises from the President, who recognized Awosika’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s educational landscape.

For over five decades, Dr. Awosika has been a stalwart in the development of education in Nigeria. She is the founder and chairman of Chrisland Schools Limited and the Chancellor of Chrisland University, institutions that have shaped the futures of countless young Nigerians. President Tinubu, in his statement, lauded her dedication to the pursuit of knowledge, excellence, and nation-building. 

“Dr. Awosika’s life has been dedicated to pursuing knowledge, excellence, and nation-building. Through her vision, discipline, and commitment to quality education, she has nurtured generations of leaders and professionals who continue to make meaningful contributions to our country,” President Tinubu stated.

Beyond her role in education, Dr. Awosika has been celebrated for her entrepreneurial spirit, philanthropy, and as a role model. Her contributions extend to her roles in various blue-chip companies, her philanthropy work, and her involvement in numerous community and national organizations. Her selfless dedication to empowering future generations has left an indelible mark on Nigeria, as noted by President Tinubu. 

The President also commended her strong moral values and tireless devotion to human capital development, which he said inspires all. “As you celebrate this remarkable milestone, I sincerely thank you for your invaluable service to the nation. May your years ahead be filled with continued health, joy, and fulfillment,” he concluded in his birthday message.

Dr. Awosika, born on February 13, 1940, in Owo, Ondo State, has received numerous accolades for her work, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award in 2004. She is known not only for founding one of Nigeria’s leading private school groups but also for her broader contributions to society, making her an iconic figure in both education and philanthropy.

The legacy of Dr. Winifred Awosika continues to be a symbol of inspiration, as highlighted by the President’s commendation, reflecting a life well-lived in service to education and the betterment of Nigeria.
